Biographies of Great People

Florence Nightingale- Nurse- 4 (conclusion) - Her sister wrote that "Florence doesn't sleep longer than 2 hours a night and refuses to consider her weakness for fear it will mean the needed reforms are not carried out."

Florence Nightingale- Nurse- 3 - Soon after her arrival, over 1000 soldiers were under her medical care. She not only took charge of the 38 nurses with her, but also made major changes in the kitchen so the meals would be healthy and at least somewhat tasty.

Florence Nightingale- Nurse- 2 - Finally Florence wrote, "I am thirty, the age at which Christ began His mission. Now, no more childish things, no more vain things, no more love, no more marriage. Now, Lord, let me think only of Thy will."

Hudson Taylor- Part 7 (finish) - Then a problem arose with a missionary couple who eventually returned to England and passed around bad reports about the work of China Inland Mission. The result was a great decrease in gifts to the missionaries.

Hudson Taylor- Part 6 - As they neared the shore, Mr. Taylor went to his cabin to gather his belongings. Suddenly he heard a "splash!". Hudson flew to the deck to find Peter missing.
"Yes, he fell overboard and went down," a man said indifferently.

Hudson Taylor- Part 5 - "Dear Mr. Taylor. I do not accept your proposal for marriage and I feel that it would be best if we are not seen together any more. Sincerely, Miss Maria Dyer."

Hudson Taylor- Part 4 - As they approached the city, a group of drunken soldiers grabbed them and began to hit and kick them. "Let's kill them," one man said.

us." He agreed and soon found himself in a pitiful one-room apartment with 4 or 5 half-starved children, and a 3 day old baby.
